Structural Bioinformatics and Molecular Modelling Applied to Food Science
Ed. 2026
Thursdays from 17/09 to 17/12 - 11:00 to 14:00 (Uy)
- Online
- Synchronic modality
- Practical activities are thought to be done at the University
What is this course about?
Food science is becoming increasingly molecular and data-driven, making bioinformatics essential for understanding links between diet and health. This course offers a hands-on introduction to structural bioinformatics and molecular modeling in an international, collaborative framework.
Objectives
- To introduce applied structural bioinformatics fundamentals
- Apply molecular modeling to food biomolecules
- To develop digital and analytical skills
- To foster international collaboration
Main topics
- Structural Bioinformatics basics
- Physical-chemistry basis behind molecular structure and interactions
- Structural Databases (PDB, UniProt)
- Biomolecular visualization
- Chemoinformatics: ligand-base protein-ligand interaction
- Molecular modeling: protein structure prediction, protein-ligand-docking
